At St. Martin of Tours School, we believe that technology is a powerful tool for student achievement and engagement. Technology is integrated throughout the curriculum to enhance academic achievement.
Interactive Whiteboards: Classrooms are equipped with SMARTBoards and SMARTDisplays, interactive, electronic white boards, that enable anything that can be seen or done on a computer screen to be projected onto a digital display.
iPads: Each class has its own set of iPads. Across the curriculum, iPads are utilized as a tool for learning and communication. iPads inspire creativity and hands on learning. Powerful apps let students engage with content in interactive ways and find information in an instant. There seem to be an infinite number of uses for this technology in the classroom including:
- Creating movies, presentations, and graphic organizers
- Producing music
- Reading digital books
- Interactive assessments
PASCO Sparkvue HD Probe-ware: In conjunction with iPads the Sparkvue HD app works with PASCO probe-ware to provide interactive laboratory activities that integrate science concepts with live data collection and analysis. SPARKvue HD brings real-time sensor data collection, visualization, and analysis to our inquiry based science classes.
iMac Lab: Our computer lab has 34 iMacs. Students use applications unique to Macs such as iPhoto, iMovie, Keynote, Garageband, Numbers, Pages, in addition to Powerpoint, Word, and Excel.
Rokenbok Mobile STEM Lab: Mobile STEM lab materials are used to teach everything from Simple Machines to 3D printing.
