Geography Bee

For the 27th year, St. Martin of Tours School students participate with students from thousands of schools in the United States and in five territories, as well as in Department of Defense Dependents Schools around the world in the National Geographic Bee using materials prepared by the National Geographic Society. The contest is designed to encourage teachers to include geography in their classrooms, spark student interest in the subject, and increase public awareness about geography. The winner from SMT advances to the next level of competition, a written examination to determine state competitors.  All school winners are eligible to win the national championship and its first prize, a $25,000 college scholarship, at the national competition May 19-21, 2014 in Washington, D.C.
