Students in grades five through eight participated in the Daughers of the American Revolution Essay Contest. Each wrote an essay on this year’s topic: The nineteenth amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which gave women the same rights as men to vote in government elections. Mrs. Tawny Welch, from the Beverly Hills Chapter of the DAR, says she thoroughly enjoyed reading our essays and was impressed by how many truly creative thinkers we have at SMT.
