All Palisades community members: our hearts go out to you and we are praying for your families. We have families within our community that have lost their homes in this tragic fire. If your child's school was destroyed by the fire, we are prepared to streamline and expedite enrollment process for qualified displaced K-8 students. Our staff is ready to assist with paperwork and any necessary documentation. Our school psychologist is available to offer emotional support and guidance to students and families. And we will provide students with the supplies they need to begin their studies right away. We have a loving school community and would be honored to come along side and support you at this time.

Unlocking Worlds, One Page at a Time
SMT’s library has an amazing collection of books and resources, including iMac computers. It’s also a haven for students who opt to spend free time with friends learning, creating, playing games, or just quietly reading. Some of the many reading and reading-related activities created to engage students by our librarian/literacy coach include a monthly literary challenge and a special section of classics called “points books,” which allow students to stretch their comprehension and vocabulary skills and earn classroom points. SMT also utilizes Accelerated Reader, a reading incentive program, in which students select books at their suggested level, read the book, and then take a reading quiz which helps staff monitor student performance and intervene with individualized strategies for students.
Guest authors and our twice-a-year book fairs are activities enjoyed by all levels of readers.
