Mission

SMT strives to develop students who are committed to faith, service, and excellence.  An SMT education nurtures a faith commitment that inspires a joyful personal relationship with God, promotes Catholic principles of justice, peace, and compassion, and fosters the personal growth of students by providing an intellectually challenging, creative program of studies designed to help them reach their full potential.

Our faculty works collaboratively to bring about the total development of the students under our care.  Recognizing that parents are the primary educators of their children and that the family is the heart of a value-based education, the faculty acts as co-educators with parents, striving to continue, support, and enrich what parents have instilled in their children.  SMT aims to foster the growth of each individual according to his or her own potential within a moral and ethical framework.

SMT is an historic academic institution located in the Brentwood area of Los Angeles.  Every year, we admit the children of local families, sometimes for the second or third generation.  We are a welcoming and inclusive community.  The appeal of a faith-based education has helped us create a very diverse community of parents eager to give their children a nurturing environment with the highest possible standards.  Our school draws families from all walks of life and from differing religious traditions, families with roots in Los Angeles or elsewhere in the United States, along with those from Europe, South America, Australia, Africa, and Asia.
